Utah Trip

Scott and I decided that we were long overdue for a vacation. My sister-in-law Amy just had her 4th baby in October and she was being blessed in church the Sunday after Thanksgiving in Heber City Utah where they live. We thought we'd go on a 10 day vacation to Utah! We left the Friday before Thanksgiving, and drove straight through the night so that Trent could sleep. He actually did pretty well, he woke up every hour and a half or so crying a little mostly out of discomfort in his carseat...but quickly went back to sleep. We had family pictures taken that Sunday and then went to Provo one day, Salt Lake, Park City, and Amy and I had pedicures (which was soooo nice). I'll post some of the pictures I took and explain them as I go...

Trent in front of the Provo Temple

Trent LOVED his new cousin Kyndra. He couldn't stop giving her kisses, so I had to run and grab my camera to capture this sweet moment. He also surprised us and when Kyndra started crying in her bassenette he went and grabbed a bottle from across the room, stood on his tip toes and tried to put it in her mouth....amazing a 13 1/2 month old would even THINK of doing something like that.

Can you tell Trent is VERY sick in this picture? This was taken Thanksgiving Day and the night before Trent was running a 103 temperature so we took him to the walk in clinic at Heber Hospital to make sure he was ok. The Dr. checked his ears for earaches and chest and lungs, he turned out fine, but would continue to have a temperature for the next 2 days, and a cold for the next week and a half, poor little guy!!! Needless to say, he didn't have a very fun Thanksgiving, infact he only ate a roll...not even TURKEY!!!

Thanksgiving day with cousins Grant, Kelsi and Kaylie. This was the only picture I got with the kids, and Trent was crying in it. I should've taken pictures BEFORE he got sick, but obviously I couldn't see what would happen in the future, I thought I had plenty of time for pictures.

The day after Thanksgiving, Scotts mom and sister Kimmy along with her daughter Sydney flew into Salt Lake for the weekend to see baby Kyndra get blessed. We decided to take a trip to temple Square so that we could get family pictures in front of the Salt Lake Temple...one of my favorites. I wish we could've been there at night to see everything lit up for Christmas, but we did get to see an awesome nativity scene they had set out!

Kaylie was sooo cold that she borrowed her 8 month old cousin Sydney's jacket...Kaylie's 4! haha, Scott says "this is our homeless niece" :)

A beautiful Christmas tree inside of the Joseph Smith Building. I wish we could have a tree that big and beautiful in our home!

This was the view outside of Amy's house in Heber. We only got snow one day, but it was melted within a few hours.

Trent ready to go to church for Kyndra's blessing...he's so handsome even when he is sick!

This is Trent waving to the camera in the airport on his way home with Grandma and Kimmy...now you're probably wondering where we were. We decided that it'd be best not to torture Trent, OR US by having a sick kid ride home in the car for 13 hours, so we were lucky enough to be able to send him on the plane home with Scott's mom and Sister. Kimmy was awesome and took a bunch of pictures for us, since we were missing Trent's first experience on a plane. This is him putting his shoes back on after security.
Riding the escalator with Grandma, we were told he LOVED the people mover.
waiting for their plane
Since their flight wasn't until 9 at night, we got into Fresno at exactly the same time. Trent did great (so we're told) on the plane and flirted with the flight attendant, ate cookies, and pounded on the tray in front of him. We almost got a scare though, their flight was almost cancelled due to heavy fog in Fresno, and they would've been re-routed to Reno and they'd have to stay overnight. Thank goodness, they landed safely!

Oh friend, I loved it all! I'm so glad you went to Temple Square, I've never been there at Christmas time. I never knew they put up a tree in the Joseph Smith Building, so pretty. I love that building.

Trent looked so adorable all sick just sitting there with a running nose and wet collar! So sad but he looked so cute. It must be his hair cut cuz he is looking so grown up to me lately! Like he's months older then Kaylin instead of days, crazy!

Looked like he LOVED the plane ride w/ Grandma. So cute. I'm glad you had a good, relaxing trip especially before tax season starts up again.
