Our little fishy

Trent is now on his 4th swim lesson. I'm not able to get many pictures nor am I able to get much video of him without him seeing me.  When he sees me he cries therefore ruining his swim lesson. I was able to snap a few pictures and then at the end of his lesson I had him show me a tiny bit of what he learned. For only having 4 lessons and being terrified of putting his face in the water in the very beginning...I'd say he's doing pretty darn well. He's learned how to jump in the water and then turn around and swim back to the wall to get himself out..I'm assuming this is being taught to him just in case he falls in the water he is able to swim to the side and get himself out. I'm so proud of our little man and hopefully I'll be able to get more video of him later this week.

A boys bestfriend..

Now that it's summer time and Trent has gotten taller and older, we've been letting him play out back with our black lab Macy. Before when Trent was younger Macy would sometimes accidentally knock him down trying to play with him, or her powerful tail would whip him in the face when she was wagging it...all innocent fun on the dogs part but it would sometimes end up in some tears lol.  Over the past few weeks Trent and Macy have become the best of friends. I always have the window open to the backyard so I can listen to and watch Trent and Macy play together, and the conversations he has with her are adorable..I should really start video taping it. When we let her inside he says "Macy follow me..let's go play in my room" and sure enough, she follows him back to his room. Scott and I thought it was very important that Trent grew up with a dog so that he wasn't afraid of them or wouldn't become allergic to them (if you introduce them to animals when they're babies, majority of the time they won't have allergies to them..so we've heard).  This past weekend we looked at every local animal shelter to get Macy a companion to play with on days when Trent can't give her the attention she deserves.  We have a playdate scheduled with another lab up for adoption tomorrow and if all works out...we may have another addition to our family this week! stay tuned...

1st Disneyland trip

About a month ago we took Trent to Disneyland for the very first time. In the past Scott and I were perfectly happy only going to Disneyland every few years, but ever since we've had Trent, our outlook on the "Happiest Place on Earth" has completely changed...it truly can be pretty close to the Happiest Place on Earth. We spent 3 days going back and forth between Disneyland and California Adventure and had such a great time!! This by far was our favorite family vacation we've taken. It made us so happy to see Trent's reaction to all of his favorite Disney characters and his reaction to all of the rides we went on.  The ride we rode the most? Pirates of the Caribbean...we rode it 4 times..he loved it that much! We got lucky and didn't have to deal with heat nor the crowds...we seriously went at the perfect time.  The weather was in the 70's and we had to wait no longer than 20 minutes for rides, including rides like Pirates, the Haunted Mansion and rides like Buzz lightyear that usually have long lines. We had such a good time that all 3 of us can't wait to go back! I took a lot of pictures but had to choose only a few to put on here or it would've taken me a very long time to put this blog post together...so enjoy!

Trent's absolute FAVORITE character, so we treated him with a buzz lightyear toy and the buzz lightyear gun that's on the ride there at Disneyland...he was one happy boy!

Sometimes I wish...

That we didn't have to wait so long for things in life that we desperately, and righteously want.

But as they say..If at first you don't succeed...Try Try again!....

Mood for the day: discouraged yet hopeful

Engagement Party

A few weekends ago my bestfriend Lindsay had her engagement party. She's been my bestfriend since we moved in next door to her family when I was 6 years old.  Scott and I love her fiance Charlie and couldn't be happier with her decision on her life long partner. Wedding date is set for September 24th of next year at the St. Paul Armenian church here in Fresno..and I'm a bridesmaid!
