Island Waterpark!

Yesterday we took Trent to his first waterpark...the Island Waterpark. I lifeguarded there for 2 years the summer in between my junior and senior year of highschool and the summer after I graduated. I never realized how easy and NICE my job was..you get to have a nice suntan, and have your feet in cool water all day long, you can't beat that! It was fun to be back as a visitor this time, man things have changed since I was last there..I'm a married woman now with a child! Trent LOVED LOVED the water there. He had so much fun splashing around in the kid area. We went with my parents and my niece Emma and nephew James. My mom and dad watched Trent in the kiddie area while we went on the bigger slides with James and Emma. Everyone had such a good time. We got there at 10:30am and left around 3..only because Trent passed out as we were floating around the "Lazy River"...what a great way to cool off in 100+ degree Fresno weather!

One of my absolute FAVORITE things to do, besides shop, is to cook. I need new recipes so MOM'S PLEASE SEND ME YOUR FAVORITE RECIPES!! If you are reading this..you better send me a recipe. I love trying new things, and being creative in the kitchen so send your favorite meals my way.

We don't like mushrooms nor are we big fish eaters, but other than that we'll eat just about anything!

Can We Fix It?

Yes We Can!!

For those of you Bob The Builder Fans..you know that song well. A few weeks ago my sis-in-law Amy was in town from Utah with her 4 kids, so we jam packed a day full of fun! First we went to the Fresno Metropolitan Museum for a Bob The Builder Exhibit. This was really fun and really cool. They had all of the characters from the cartoon, and all kinds of hands on things for the kids, Trent loved it and ran around crazy. Afterwards we went to Playland and let the kids ride a bunch of rides. I was so proud of Trent for going on a lot of rides all by himself, and even riding a super fast, probably scary to him, rollercoaster and he DIDN'T EVEN CRY! After spending a few hours there, we went home to rest up for a bit before heading off to the Circus. It's a tradition in the Wilcox family to go to the circus with the kids every year. Trent loved the seeing the animals and the magic tricks. All I kept hearing was "mama...the elephants!!..bye bye elephants..bye bye circus" He had such a good time!

Escape from Fresno's Heat

Yesterday Scott had the bright idea of going to Bass Lake for the afternoon to escape Fresno's 100+ degree weather. We stopped at a little burger place in Oakhurst, picked up some lunch and ate it on our own little private beach Scott found us...it was perfect, in the shade and quiet! We watched Trent explore around, throw rocks, dump sand in his hair, and "oo" and "ah" as speeding boats drove by. The weather was PERFECT, and the water was beautiful! I played around w/ photobucket a little and edited two of the pictures I took (one being the picture above) and I LOVE how they turned out. I told Scott that when we buy our own house, in the very near future, I want to enlarge the picture above and hang it up, I just think it's so precious..so much so that I cried when I saw the picture. There's nothing like capturing father-son moments!

Friday the 3rd of July, Scott and I were able to go up to the bay area and stay with my good friend Tina and her husband who live in Walnut Creek. We all decided to take the BART into San Fransisco and go to a Giants Game. We had dinner beforehand at a little restaurant on the water, the weather was absolutely beautiful!! We thought our seats weren't going to be so great but they turned out to be just perfect. They were high enough up for us to see the whole stadium, to block the wind at night (sitting underneath an overhang) and they were perfect for watching fireworks after the game. Scott and I both agree this was the BEST firework show we'd ever seen, they shot them off in the water and it was beautiful and romantic for us. Thank goodness for Sandy, Trent was able to stay the night with his grandma so we could get away, even if it was just for a night. By the way, did I mention the Giants Killed the Astros 13-0?
