New Mommy-mobile

I'm happy to announce that I FINALLY got a SUV!! We traded the Jetta in for a brand new 2011 GMC Terrain!! Some people are sad to see their previous car go, but let me tell you, I couldn't sign over the release forms for my old car fast enough. I bought the Jetta 2 months before Scott and I got married, it was only a year old and had 8,000 miles on it so it was perfect for me. But after I had Trent I felt so unsafe in it. I'd have these thoughts while I was going through an intersection that if someone blew through a red light we'd be toast. It scared be badly, but I had only had the car for a year so I obviously couldn't get rid of it. Now that we're having a second child it was a must, the Jetta had to go. It was a good car to me, in fact, it was 7 years old and only had 36,000 miles on it!! The dealership had no problem taking it with those kind of miles. I did my research on SUV's for weeks, trying to find the best one, best gas mileage, had to be cute (lol), and definitely had to have good safety ratings on it. I don't think you can get better than a 5 star crash tested car, so the Terrain it was. This one is fully loaded with whitish/gray and black leather, sun roof, On Star, blue tooth, satellite radio, remote start on the car so I can start it inside and warm it up before we get it and NO ONE CAN STEAL IT WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGNITION..Awesome!! it also has a backup camera so I can see everything behind me, and you can open the back hatch/latch(whatever you call it) with the remote so that it'll open and close for you when your hands are full with groceries, or kids that is..
I really wasn't expecting to find a SUV with so many options on it that didn't cost an arm and a leg...ok well maybe 2 arms, but not BOTH legs lol.
OH and the BEST part...it gets 22 mpg in the city and 32 on the hwy..almost as good as my Jetta..now that's pretty darn good for a SUV!!
Anyway, I absolutely love it, love the new car smell, new leather smell and CLEANLINESS..it's all just a breath of fresh air. We're ready for baby #2 to come already, hurry up little one!!

Family pics & 5 years Vegas Style!

This blog post has seriously taken me a week to post because every time I would get on here to edit this post it would freeze after uploading one picture. I feel like I'm so far behind on the important things that have been happening in our life, and I'm going to blame it all on Blogger haha.

Anyway, We took family pictures in December and of course picked a rainy day to do them...just our luck. There were only a few that turned out good, due to the rain and raindrops on the camera lens. Thank you to my sis-in-law Kimmy for coming out in the cold rain with her 3 kids to take these for us..we appreciate it! Oh and..yes there's a baby bump present in the pictures, I can't wait to take our FAMILY OF FOUR pictures soon :)

I know I'm biased because he's my child, but seriously he is the cutest kid ever!

January 6th of this new year was our 5th Wedding anniversary!! I've been waiting for this year to come up so that we could take a much needed vacation together. We try and have a vacation alone every year, so this was a great opportunity to go on one. Scott wanted me to leave the vacation planning up to him. I have to admit I was sooo nervous leaving our anniversary trip in his hands. To be honest I don't know why, Scott has ALWAYS done a good job at surprising me with special presents and stuff throughout our marriage so I should've known this would be a fun trip. He didn't tell me where and when we were going until our anniversary night which fell on a Thursday this year. He had our parents lined up to watch Trent and we were heading to Vegas Saturday morning until Tuesday night. I haven't been to Las Vegas since I was in highschool and I've been really wanting to go. He obviously was paying attention all of those times I mentioned wanting to go. The most exciting part he had planned for us was a Boyz II Men concert Sunday night. Scott and I both love Boyz II Men and we absolutely love the show the Sing Off which one of the Boyz II Men singers judges...so this was extra exciting.

Saturday happened to be Scott's 31st birthday, so this was yet another reason to celebrate. We went to P.F. Changs on the strip for dinner then to a commedy show afterwards. We ended the night at an ice cream parlor since I couldn't obviously make him a birthday cake. Sunday we spent walking the strip and going to Caesar's Palace. That night we went to a really good Teppanyaki restaurant in Caesar's Palace where we had a teppanyaki table all to ourselves. It was a mini table that was meant to only seat 2 people so we had a private chef making us dinner, that was extra special. Afterwards was the Boyz II Men concert. It was absolutely amazing. We were in a booth right behind the VIP row (so in 2nd row) and not only did Shawn Stockman (The Sing Off Judge) Come and shake both Scott's and my hand but I also got a rose while they were singing...hahah I was in heaven!! Scott and I both commented the whole time that this by far was the best concert we had ever been to. It was their last show in Vegas so it was extra special, they not only sang all of their hit songs but also a bunch of MoTown's greatest hits. WE LOVED IT!!! By far the best part of the trip, Scott did good in planning this. We finished up our trip by walking the strip, eating good food, and most importantly spending A LOT of quality time together. This trip just brought us so much closer together and I can't wait to spend an eternity of anniversaries with this wonderful man!
