officially done...

with the Twilight Saga. I managed to read 4 books equalling over 2300 pages in a little over a week and a half. I did however have several days break in between some books to give my eyes a rest. I read most books in a bout a day and a half. I agree with some bloggers that the last book Breaking Dawn had some far-fetched ideas/scenarios in it, but I really did enjoy it a lot...and I got an ending to the story, which I was very happy with. I'm sad to find out that the other book Stephenie was writing Midnight Sun which was supposed to be Edward's take on Twilight is "on hold indefinitely" according to Stephenie Meyer on her blog. Someone leaked the first 12 chapters over the internet and she said she "feels too sad to continue writing"...which is a HUGE disappointment. I know that lots of her fans would still wait until she finished the book and buy it...including ME!! Now I'm struggling with the concept that I have no more books to read about Edward and Bella's journey..what AM I going to do with my free time now? lol...I should probably get back to cleaning house and reading kiddie books to my son...or I could read The Host, the other book Stephenie Meyer has put out....yup that's exactly what I'll do!

MY LIFE!!!

Tonight I went on a much needed girls night out. It's been a long time since I've been out without my sidekick Trent. Before leaving home I was a good housewife and made Scott dinner, then I met Kimmy and my mother-in-law Sandy for pizza at the new Me-n-Ed's Coney Island right outside of Edwards Theater. Of course as usual the pizza was fabulous. Afterwards Kimmy and I went and saw the movie House Bunny...ok ok I know what you're thinking.. it was the only chick flick playing I promise. It actually wasn't that bad, sorta cute...a couple of cheesy moments, but the main purpose in going was to relax without the kids..which we did! Anyway, when I came home from the movies I walked into the family room to find...

my two handsome boys passed out on the living room floor...must have been a wild boys night at home. All I need to know now is...how the heck Scott got Trent to fall asleep on the floor next to him!!

Yesterday Kimmy, her kids, my mother-in-law and Trent and I went to the good ol' Manchester Mall. My mother-in-law had to get some things at Sears so we decided we might as well stroll the mall while we were there. Man have things changed since I was a little girl. I vaguely remember things about the mall, like Eddie's bakery that used to have these AMAZING frosted sugar cookies....sadly they aren't there (and the new location doesn't have the cookies I love). BUT....Manchester just wouldn't be the same without the carousel. The whole way through the mall Tyler (my nephew) was begging to "ride the horses"...I mean come on...are you going to even deny a 3 year old a ride on the horses? you'd have to be heartless. So I figured Trent was big enough for me to plop him on top of a horse and take a ride on the carousel. I also remembered my camera was conveniently in my purse so I took advantage of this blog worthy moment and had my mother-in-law take pictures of our oh-so-fun ride. Trent clung onto my arm for dear life and didn't really like it in the beginning. His death grip on me loosened up by the 10th time around, just as I felt like I was going to lose my soft pretzel...but I focused on the horses in front of me, kept my eyes away from the spinning stores to my right, and I survived the ride....oh and so did Trent.

Just until about a couple of weeks ago, if you would've asked me what the Twilight Series was, I probably would've guessed it was some Star Wars book series. As I browsed around on other people's blogs I noticed several were ranting and raving about the book "Breaking Dawn" I had no clue what the heck it was about. After the 4th time seeing it on someone's page, I decided I'd look it up on Google. I thought the plot sounded lame...a girl falling in love with a Vampire? Not my cup of tea...but I had to admit I was a bit curious. As I walked through Target with Kimmy like I frequently do I came across the entire series staring right at me. I turned to Kimmy and shamefully admitted I was interested in these books but couldn't bring myself to buy a book about Vampires. She chuckled and admitted she was just as curious...don't you know that curiousity killed the cat? We gave in..and bought Twilight, the first book of the series. Kimmy read it first. I was hoping she wouldn't like it, then I wouldn't have to read these rediculously long books, but I was wrong, she fed my curiousity...ranting and raving about how good it was, just like the blogs I had read a few weeks ago. I started the book two days ago, and finished it today. I was instantly hooked, so much so that all I could think about was getting the next book. We both ran out to Target to buy "New Moon" the second book..and what do we find??? TWO...EXACTLY TWO New Moon books remaining..it was meant to be, at least that's what we told ourselves. I dove right into the book when I got home today. I can't wait to finish this one, move onto the next two and see the movie once it comes out in November. You can guarantee I'll be there opening day!!!

One Step at a Time

Just this past week, Scott and I have been working hard at getting Trent to walk back and forth between us. In the prior weeks before, he didn't show much interest in walking on his own, I think he figured he could get places faster by crawling, or walking along the tables and couches. But now he is so excited to walk to us...granted he still is BARELY hanging on to my pinky. Scott let go of him today and he stood by himself in the middle of the room with his arms straight out in front of him trying to balance...then he SLOOOOWLY sat down. It's like a little lightbulb went off in his head and he realized "HEY...I think I want to try this walking stuff". When Scott let go of him the second time around he actually took one step in towards him by himself, but it wasn't enough to call it his actual "first steps". I have to make sure and charge up the video camera..I have a feeling this little guy is going to cross this BIG milestone anytime now. YAY! I can't even explain how excited I am for him to accomplish this walking stuff.

Mr. Busy Body

As Trent is approaching 10 months, he's busier than ever, giving me a great workout! As I mentioned before, he has been getting into mischief since he was 7 months old by climbing into the dryer while I'm trying to do laundry, trying to "help" load the dishwasher, getting into the cupboards. His latest tricks include him getting into a drawer in the kitchen at Scott's parents house, climbing onto the fireplace, climbing up onto the couch...basically anything he can climb onto, he does. There's often times I wish he'd just stay put, but I have to admit it's pretty funny watching him get into things, especially when he thinks I'm not looking. I have a feeling this little boy is going to give us a run for our money as he gets older!
