This past weekend I went to a friend's baby shower. I saw this adorable idea on Etsy (did I mention this is my favorite website and since learning we're having a girl I'm pretty much obsessed?)
They're receiving blankets that I rolled up to make look like Lollipops!
I was determined to make these on my own and not purchase them online, so I sort of made up my own way to do them. Aren't they cute?
I told you my creative side has been waiting to unleash itself...but I'll admit a mini meltdown came with making these.
Putting them together was easy, but unfortunately I couldn't find something bigger to put them all in so I had to go with the box pictured below. Friday night, the night before the shower I was trying to assemble everything and the box kept tipping over due to the weight of the blankets. This is when the tears came a flowin'. Scott started laughing telling me that I was clearly having pregnancy emotions and that I was doing such a great job. At least he wasn't telling me how much I sucked at it haha.
Anyway, I made it work, still wasn't satisfied by the LITTLE box I had to put them in, but it got the job done. Next time I'd like to find a long rectangular tin that's not only heavy enough to withstand the weight of the blankets, but also long enough so I can line the blankets up one next to the other. I also have so many more ideas for other cute "edible" things to make with these..I just need another baby shower to attend. Anyone want to volunteer to invite me to theirs? :)
I cut the ribbon and made the bows smaller right after taking this pic
This is a candy roll that I made out of wash cloths, I had many more supplies to make multiple candy rolls but again, the SMALL box ruined my plans ...ERRRR!!!!

I saw these on etsy too, dang cute! the next shower i go to I want to make them! I think the box looks great! good job!
These are super cute! You are so cute being all crafty! I wish I had more time to be crafty like that!
Very cute!!!
Cute Megan!!!!!...a flower pot with styrofoam would work too....who ever you gift it to, could reuse the flower pot later and you could tie a matching ribbon you've used on one of the lolipops around the rim of the flower pot.
I've used popcorn kernals or white beans as weights to prop things up in pots, jars or tins...they work great because they are heavy and cheap to purchase. Keep up the cute crafting!!!
Since they look like candy why not put them into a candy jar? Or one of the large preserve jars that has a rubber seal and clamp on it...
