He's out of our bed...finally!

This past weekend my parents went out and bought Trent a big boy bed for his 2nd birthday that's coming up. Scott and I have been waiting for this day to come for a very long time now...because...he's been sleeping OUR bed! lol Trent has never been very fond of his crib. He'd sleep until about 2am in it and then he'd be in our bed. Don't get me wrong, Scott and I actually really liked having him in bed...most of the time. There were times where he'd roll on top of us, smother me, take over my pillow, kick me in the face in his sleep, demand sippy's at 5AM, but we felt a sense of security knowing he was safe right next to us. Were we going to eventually have a 10 year old that slept in bed with us? I DONT THINK SO! so it was time to make the transition. Trent's nursery furniture was all black so it was a little difficult finding a bed to match, but we did it, and we absolutely love it! We want to re-do his room in a Fresno State theme. We have posters from when they won the College World Series with several baseball players' signatures on it, we have sports pillows, baseball football and basketball cut-out rugs waiting to be put out. But for now we bought him a red comforter that's reversable with blue on the other side. We also want to paint a border around the room as displayed in the picture below, but can't do so until we buy our own home (which is in the near future, we hope).
(we were looking at model homes a few weekends ago and one of the rooms was decorated like this and we've ALWAYS wanted to do a Fresno State room for Trent so I HAD to take a picture. Also for those of you who don't know the Bulldogs took on the phrase "underdogs to wonderdogs" during the College World Series last year, hence the "wonderdogs" part of the border)
I've hit up my mother-in-law to make a pillow sham with the Fresno State Bulldog in the middle to complete his bed set (I want to make it simple since the rest of the room will be filled with sports memorabilia). I also went through and boxed up all of Trent's baby toys and put them away (which was sad for me) and made room for him to play with his bigger toys which were "conveniently" placed in our living room (I always told myself I'd never be one of "those" people with toys in their family room). We were quite certain Trent would throw a huge fit the first night of sleeping in his bed but he did great. We said family prayers, read a book in bed, and I turned out the light and layed next to him and told him it was bed time. He was perfectly fine probably bc I was next to him but he was out within a few minutes and only woke up once, and I layed next to him and he fell right back asleep. We don't feel the need to let him SCREAM it out, when laying next to him for a few minutes means we can all have a peaceful nights rest. It's been nice having the bed back to ourselves, I forgot how big it actually is!
can you tell he LOVES LOVES LOVES his new bed?
His new little area to play, he also has a closet full of toys
