Truly Thankful

I'm feeling incredibly thankful for all of my many blessings...mainly my family. I'm so lucky that I have a wonderful husband, and such a lovable little boy. I went to church today thinking that I would run into protestors opposing the passing of Prop 8, outside of our temple (since that was the rumor, that they'd be there today). I had a whole new feeling overwhelm me as I walked up to church and saw a security guard walking around. I felt a little angry and I didn't like feeling angry while walking into church. I mainly felt angry because we have to now have security guards at church to make sure protestors don't do anything illegal..and it saddens me that people would be so disrespectful as to go to someones house of worship to protest. I understand that protesting is a right that we as Americans have and SHOULD be able to do, however I don't agree with where they were wanting to protest. I think that everyone should be able to go to where they worship and be able to feel peaceful and be filled with the spirit. Anyway, after church I realized that I didn't have any pictures of my family in front of the temple since Trent was born. The temple is where my family began, Scott and I were sealed together for eternity, and therefore all of our children are sealed to us as well. So I decided to take pictures of Trent and my dad outside of the temple as well as Trent, Scott and I. It was a beautiful day, and thankfully no protestors showed up outside of the temple(TODAY at least!) to ruin my picture perfect moment. I know this is only the beginning of the protesting and lashing out at our church along with many other churches, but I will continue to stand up for what I believe in, the sacredness of marriage between a man and a woman!

My dad told me that they were expecting protesters at the temple. Did any end up showing up there? Thanks for the reminder- I too am truly grateful for all that I have. i can't wait to take my baby there where my husband and I were sealed as well. I just LOVE the fresno temple!

Adele- I didn't see any protestors yesterday...we were expecting them ...more than likely it'll happen another day, unfortunately this battle isn't over.

What a great post, we do have alot to be thankful for. We just need to continue to be good examples and when hard times do come we just need to be there to support eachother in our great faith that we love. Oh & I love the pic of Trent in your front yard. Cute outfit.
