Every morning when Trent wakes up, we have a routine...warm milk, laying on a pillow on the family room ground and watching Dora The Explorer, Handy Manny, or Wonder Pets. In the past Trent could care less what was on T.V. but just within the past month or so, he's really taken an interest in shows like Dora, Handy Manny, Wonder Pets and Ni Hao Kai Lan (A comperable Chinese Version of Dora The Explorer).
I think it's the bright colors and the fact that the characters actually talk to you and ask you questions to answer. I've recorded several of these shows to keep on our DVR just in case I need to get stuff done around the house without a tornado following me around and undoing everything I've already done. I ask him if he wants to watch Dora, and his response " DO-DA DO-DA" and runs into the family room and hops up on the couch. As soon as he see's Dora's Backpack he yells "ba pa ba pa" and when he sees the map he says "maaaa". As long as Trent isn't hooked on the TV (which he isn't, he'll only sit for about 20 min without moving around) I'm fine with him watching these shows because they teach him new words, and eventually he'll learn the Spanish Words Handy Manny and Dora teach, and maybe even the Chinese words Ni Hao Kai Lan teaches. Yay for "Do-Da!"

Yah thats how Austin is. I usually have the TV on PBS kids in the morning but he never actually sits still and watches anything for very long. He just likes to hear the music and talking while hes playing. Has Trent ever seen SuperWhy? Its on weekdays at 830 and I swear, Austins learned SOOO much from that show! He recognizes letters and is learning how to sound them out. Its hilarious. He also likes Handy Manny, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse & Caillou. Those are his favorites :) Trents really starting to talk it sounds like, isnt it fun!!
It's funny but while Chad was on vacation he actually really started to love watching Handy Manny and Wonder Pets. It was so cute. Good idea to DVR a couple of them...I didn't think about that. Trent is SO good with sounding out his words...that's so good. Maybe he'll just be more talkative then Kaylin...hahaha!
By the way, your new layout is really cute.
That is so cute!!! You are so lucky!! Karli won't even sit for five minutes to enjoy a show! She'd rather be throwing library books in the bathtub, or my check book in the toilet. No joke!!!
This is so fun you recorded this. I'll have to copy because it is fun to think about what shows were on when we were little...like Smurfts, Carebears, etc. So cute!!
what do you know? We have the same routine except the shows are Curious George, Clifford, etc. Wish we had the Noggin channel again! hahah I'm starting to need variety!
